What is your career plan?
After retiring from a successful career in university administration, my career plan now revolves around working part-time as a professor. I am passionate about education and firmly believe in the power of nurturing young minds. As long as I can contribute to shaping the intellect and future of the new generation, I intend to continue my role as a professor. It brings me great joy to share my knowledge, experiences, and insights with students, helping them grow and succeed. Teaching part-time allows me to strike a balance between my desire to contribute to academia and enjoying the benefits of retirement.
Teaching as retirement

I often think that “teaching” is genetic. Some of us are teachers, and some of us are not. Most of my family members were in the field of education. My mom taught ESL, and so did my sister. My sister also taught Sunday school and was involved with Daily Vacation Bible School for decades. One of my brothers was a Director of Training, and the other was a schoolteacher in the public system for decades. And I taught Sunday School for years, and taught courses at the university level. For me, teaching is like drinking water!

The nature vs nurture question again. I think choosing a teaching career requires certain abilities that could be genetic , but also your environment prompts you to choose a public service career. In your case you had the ability to communicate (genetic) and the family teaching tradition (environment)
